Louis Saha Online video Ranking: five / five
Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has said that the pain of missing out on the starting line-up for the 2008 Champions League final has persuaded him to continue in the game, despite suffering a number of injury problems in his last four years. Louis Saha left Manchester United shortly after the club on the Champions League on penalties against Chelsea back in 2008. Since then, he has been an instrumental player for Everton before completing his free transfer to Tottenham in the January transfer window. Many have been of the opinion that Louis Saha will not be able to last much longer in the game due to the persistent injury problems.
Yet, the striker has been able to carry on for four more years. The 33-year-old striker is very much at the end of his career, but he is extremely proud that he has been able to play more than 500 matches. The striker came to the Premier league more than 12 years ago with Fulham and was regarded as one of the best back then. It persuaded Manchester United to pay more than £ 12 million for the services. Since then, he has been suffering from a number of injury problems. Louis Saha missed out on the chance to play in the final of the Champions League due to an injury.
“The low (in my career) is that night in the Champions League where I missed the final. I’m a very ambitious person. I don’t play to participate only. I want to win the biggest competitions if it’s possible. So if I can participate and win it in, I’ll try my best. We win three games, we are in it. That’s simple. It’s not trying to look at other teams and results. If you are focused on your quality and ability to win those games, it should be fine,” said Saha.
